David Ferguson

David Ferguson is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in the autonomous vehicle domain. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Stack AV since August 2023, David is involved in the development of autonomous vehicles. Previously, David was a Senior Software Engineer at Aurora, contributing to the motion planning team for the Aurora Driver, where innovations in cost functions for lane change and merge behaviors were implemented. Prior roles include significant contributions to autonomous self-driving vehicle development at Uber, robotics engineering at the National Robotics Engineering Center, and various engineering positions across leading organizations. David holds a Master's degree in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Physics from The Johns Hopkins University.
