Soofi Safavi has over 25 years of professional experience in the technology industry. In 1994, they began their career as an Application Architect at Bell Canada. Soofi then moved to CGI in 1995, where they worked as a Software Architect. In 1997, they joined IBM as a Knowledge Engineer. In 1999, they were hired as an Application Architect at Verizon. In 2001, they moved to Chase as VP - Application Development. From 2006 to 2015, they were SVP - Chief Technology Officer and VP - Business Segment Partner at Radian. In 2015, they founded and became CEO of HeavyWater Inc. In 2019, they worked as a Researcher at P300.ai. Since 2020, they have been Co-Founder & CTO at Staircase and an Investor at wizard.fit.
Soofi Safavi is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Brain Computer Interface at Drexel University School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems. Prior to this, they obtained a Certificate in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University - Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy in 2011. Soofi Safavi was also a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidate in Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania from 2005 to 2009. They also hold a Master of Science (MS) in Mathematics from Rutgers University and a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Computational and Applied Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, Soofi Safavi has obtained certifications from the General Services Administration (GSA) and the Chief Information Officer's Council (CIOC) for CIO University Certificate and from EACOE for Enterprise Architect.
