Avasha Authar has extensive experience in risk management and auditing, currently serving as the Head of Operational and Enterprise Risk Methods at Standard Bank Group since July 2010. In this role, Avasha has established enterprise risk management tools and processes, scaling operational risk practices across the organization. Previous positions at Standard Bank include Head of Risk Implementation and Methods and Lead of Risk Identification - Integrated Operational Risk, focusing on improving operational risk practices and modeling risks related to financial crime. Prior to joining Standard Bank, Avasha worked at Ernst & Young from January 2007 to February 2010, progressing from Audit Supervisor to Audit Executive, where responsibilities included audit strategy preparation and financial analysis. Avasha holds an Honours degree in Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
