Marc E. Jones, chairman and CEO of Aeris Communications, has been elected to the Stanford University Board of Trustees.
Before joining Aeris in 2005, Jones served as president and CEO of Visionael Corporation, a pioneer in enterprise network management and automation. Prior to joining Visionael in 1998, he was president and COO of Madge Networks. Previously, he served as senior vice president of integrated systems products for Chips & Technologies; senior vice president of corporate finance for L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg & Towbin; and a law associate at Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro.
Jones earned his JD in 1982 and his undergraduate degree in political science in 1979 from Stanford.
Jones has served on the Stanford Law School Board of Visitors and the Athletics Board. He has also volunteered for his undergraduate and Law School reunions. He and his wife, Lisa Jones (MBA ’88), are strong supporters of Athletics, the Law School and The Stanford Fund. They have two children, one of whom earned an undergraduate degree from Stanford.
Jones currently serves on the boards of the California Health Care Foundation and Management Leadership for Tomorrow. Previously, he was a board member of Working Partnerships USA and Green for All and served as chair of the National Cyber Security Partnership’s Enterprise Task Force.
