Rolando Perez

Rolando Perez, PhD, is a highly experienced scientist and researcher currently serving as co-PI in the Department of Biology at Stanford University. In addition to this role, Perez is an Affiliate Research Scientist at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science, leading the development of engineered living materials for space exploration. As Co-Director of Science at Open Fung and owner of RP Bioconsulting, Perez provides consulting services in science and engineering while also contributing to projects such as Sincarne as Co-founder and Chief Science Officer. Previously a Co-founder and CSO at Foray Bio, Perez has been involved in various initiatives, including serving as a fellow at Lab to Land and contributing to organizations like ValleyDAO and HairDAO. Educational background includes a PhD and MS in Bioengineering from Stanford University, a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering and Bioinformatics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an Associate's degree in Physics and Mathematics from Hartnell College.
