Gizem Gunal-Akgol

Gizem Gunal-Akgol, P.Eng., has extensive experience in climate risk, resilience, and sustainability, currently serving as the Team Lead at Stantec since January 2009. In this role, Gizem holds positions as a Senior Atmospheric Engineer and Senior Associate, and acts as the Lead Verifier for GHG and environmental parameter verification in accordance with ISO-14064-3. Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in GHG and climate change, Gizem also manages municipal climate change action plans. Prior to Stantec, Gizem worked as an Air Quality Specialist at Jacques Whitford and completed co-op placements at NOVA Chemicals, Ortech Consulting Inc., and St Marys Cement. Gizem holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering with a Chemical Specialization from the University of Waterloo.
