Vice President Supply Chain at Star Garments Group

Buddhika Lenagala has a diverse and extensive work experience in the garment industry. Buddhika currently holds the position of Vice President Supply Chain at Star Garments Group, where they have overall responsibility for group purchasing, commercial imports and exports, fabric sourcing, central warehouse, fabric inspection, and cross-functional improvement projects.

Prior to their current role, Buddhika worked at Jay Jay Mills as the Manager Operations, overseeing the entire business operation including marketing, merchandizing, factory and floor management. Buddhika was responsible for the UK-client cluster and lead a workforce of 4,200 employees. During their tenure, they contributed an average of 45% of total revenues through their cluster based in Sri Lanka.

Before joining Jay Jay Mills, Buddhika held various roles at Hirdaramani Group of Companies. Buddhika served as the General Manager Supply Chain, managing the supplier base for raw materials and accessories and implementing initiatives to improve the efficiency of the supply chain operation. Buddhika also held the position of General Manager Operations, where they oversaw the productivity, quality control, and profitability of four production plants and implemented measures to enhance employee well-being and satisfaction. Buddhika also served as the General Manager Merchandising and Marketing, achieving significant growth in annual turnover and successfully developing new regional client accounts.

Earlier in their career, Buddhika worked at Newtime Jones as the Assistant Merchandising Manager, contributing to doubling the business volume for Sri Lanka's liaison office. Buddhika also worked at LM Apparels as a Merchandiser.

Overall, Buddhika has demonstrated strong leadership and management skills, contributing to revenue growth, operational efficiency, and employee satisfaction throughout their career in the garment industry.

Buddhika Lenagala's education history includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wolverhampton. Buddhika also holds an External Degree in Fashion Merchandising from the University of Moratuwa. Additionally, they completed a Leadership Development Program at MDA Associates International. Prior to their higher education, Buddhika received their primary and secondary education from Pinnawala Central College.
