Dream Big Coordinator at Starkloff Disability Institute

Danielle Giuffrida has extensive experience in the field of social work and disability advocacy. Currently serving as the Dream Big Coordinator at Starkloff Disability Institute since January 2020, Danielle previously worked as a Retention Specialist at MERS/Goodwill from February 2017 to January 2020. Danielle's early roles included a practicum at Paraquad where responsibilities involved co-teaching classes on independent living, and providing support in youth group meetings, as well as internships and practicums at St. Louis Community College and St. Louis Arc, which involved advising students with disabilities and facilitating community engagement activities. Danielle holds a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. An associate degree in General Transfer Studies was earned from St. Louis Community College.

Starkloff Disability Institute

Founded in 2003 by Max and Colleen Starkloff and David Newburger, the Starkloff Disability Institute focuses on influencing societal attitudes and perceptions toward people with disabilities through activities that send positive messages in order to create a world that welcomes all people with disabilities. Our Mission: Empower people with disabilities, influence the non-disabled, and serve as liaisons between them, in order to achieve full participation of the disabled through economic independence achieved through practical and collaborative means. Our Future Vision: We envision a society where the disabled are seen by themselves and others as equally gifted.
