Peter Simms, CFP®, currently serves as Senior Vice President of Financial Advisory Services Compliance at SECU, a position held since May 2013, where responsibilities include building and leading compliance for the organization’s financial advisory services. Additionally, Peter Simms holds the title of Chief Compliance Officer at both Credit Union Investment Services and SECU Brokerage Services Inc., roles assumed in August 2023. Previous positions at SECU include Vice President Investment Compliance, Vice President Trust Company Compliance, Trust Company Compliance Manager, and Senior Trust Compliance Officer. Peter Simms began a career in financial services as a Senior Financial Services Officer I. Academically, Peter Simms earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013 and a Doctor of Law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law in May 2023.
