John Guard serves as the Chief Deputy Attorney General for the State of Florida since January 2019, following a distinguished legal career that includes roles as a Partner at Quarles & Brady LLP focusing on commercial litigation and government investigations from June 2012 to January 2019, and as an Assistant United States Attorney from March 2009 to June 2012. Prior experience includes an Associate position at Holland & Knight LLP specializing in commercial litigation and a Law Clerk role at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. John Guard began professional training as an Associate at Holland & Knight LLP after graduating with a Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in 2000 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Florida State University, obtained in 1997.
