M. John Shampton, CPE, VMA is a seasoned construction estimator with extensive experience in cost estimating and project management across various organizations. Currently serving as Chief Estimator for the State of Utah since April 2020, responsibilities include reviewing and approving cost estimates and change orders throughout the construction process. M. John Shampton holds the title of Certified Professional Estimator with the American Society of Professional Estimators since January 2000, emphasizing the importance of education and professionalism in the field. Previous roles include Conceptual Cost Estimator for PROCOST Conceptual Cost Estimating, Certified Professional Estimator at Hughes General Contractors, and Estimating Manager at Engineered Wall Systems, among others. M. John Shampton possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and has a diverse background that spans operational management, estimations, and energy efficiency certifications.
