Mette Christiansen

Mette Christiansen has a extensive background in social pedagogy and human services, working with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, as well as those who are Deaf and on the autism spectrum. With a PhD in Social Welfare and a Master's in Social Work, Mette has held various positions at SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Dutchess, including Director, Instructor, and Lecturer in the Concentration in Human Services within the Department of Sociology. Prior to their academic career, Mette worked as a Direct Support Worker at the Anderson Center for Autism and as a Social Pædagog at various institutions in Denmark. Mette also has experience as a Social Pedagogical Assistant at a day care center for young children.
