Emma Bowers Swart

Emma Bowers Swart is an accomplished scholar and professional with diverse experiences in education, entrepreneurship, and social impact. Currently serving as a Scholar at The Mandela Rhodes Foundation and a Marking Assistant at Stellenbosch University, Emma focuses on education policy, generative AI, and democracy in education. Emma's previous roles include being the founder of multiple initiatives, such as E by Emma and Let's Make Less Waste, and a significant contributor to various student governance bodies at Stellenbosch University, including the Academic Affairs Council and Student Representative Council. Additionally, Emma has gained experience as a Civic Tech Scholar with Equitech Futures, exploring the application of data science and AI for social change. Emma holds a degree in Education from Stellenbosch University and previously studied law, showcasing a well-rounded academic background.
