Cindy Vestergaard

Cindy Vestergaard currently serves as Project Lead for Converging Technology & Global Security at The Stimson Center since February 2024. Prior to this role, Vestergaard was Vice President for Special Projects & External Relations at DataTrails from January 2023 to February 2024, and Director of the Nuclear Safeguards Program and the Blockchain in Practice program at The Stimson Center from June 2016 to December 2022. Vestergaard has held positions such as Visiting Fellow at the Center for International Security Studies, University of Sydney, and Senior Researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies, contributing expertise in non-proliferation, arms control, and disarmament. Additionally, Vestergaard has held roles at institutions including the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Vestergaard's educational background includes a PhD in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen, an MA in International Relations and European Studies from Central European University, and a BA in International Relations from The University of British Columbia.
