Joe Stitzlein is a seasoned creative leader with extensive experience in brand design and type design. As Co-Founder and Executive Creative Director at Stitzlein Studio since May 2016, Stitzlein has collaborated with a diverse clientele, including startups and Fortune 500 companies, to create impactful brand identities and consumer experiences. Prior roles include Global Creative Director at Google, where Stitzlein directed brand shaping initiatives, and Senior Global Creative Director for Nike Running, focusing on powerful brand experiences. Stitzlein's background also includes significant positions at Landor, Stone Yamashita Partners, and CKS Partners, complemented by educational credentials in Graphic Design from the University of Cincinnati. In addition, Stitzlein is an accomplished type designer and public speaker on topics related to branding and digital experiences.

We are a Silicon Valley-based design consultancy that works closely with established brands and emerging industry leaders to bring their culture and products to life through expressive identities, typefaces and beautiful experiences. Our mission is to translate our client’s technical achievements into inspirational identities and intuitive experiences. Our team of designers, writers, developers and strategists brings a global perspective from offices in North and 
South America, the EU and APAC. We bring over 20 years of experience working on both the client and the agency side at companies such as Nike, Google, Pentagram, Landor, SYPartners and Chronicle Books. We started our studio to share what we’ve learned at these iconic companies with our clients. Design Systems We worked with Steve Jobs to help define Apple’s photography and packaging standards and with Michelle Obama to launch her Let’s Move program for healthy schools. We designed iconic identities for Netflix, Nike Flyknit, dwell magazine and Mac OS X, and built a global design studio at Google, and created campaigns that made the Nike Free the world’s best selling shoe, period. Typefaces We've designed typefaces in every major writing system in the world, including Latin, Vietnamese, Pan-African, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Thai, Arabic and Devanagari. We also have extensive relationships with Asian foundries that have helped us build type systems in Chinese, Korean and Japanese. Our team can design and build any font in any language. Clients We’ve designed typefaces, identities, packaging, products and event experiences for Airbnb, Intuitive Surgical, Facebook, Apple, FedEx, Herman Miller, P&G, Pixar, Cloudera, Rangers FC and Dwell magazine. Our work has been recognized in Adweek, the AIGA annual, the Annual of the Type Director’s Club, Atlantic Cities, the Annual of the AIA, Behance, D&AD, Under Consideration, fastcodesign.com and at Cannes, amongst others.
