Cara Murphy

Cara Murphy is an experienced Lead Engineer at STR, where responsibilities include serving as the principal investigator for IARPA’s SILMARILS Phase 2 program and leading the algorithm development team, as well as acting as the technical lead for material classification efforts under IARPA’s Core3D program. Prior roles include developing advanced target detection algorithms for an active IR hyperspectral chemical sensor during IARPA’s SILMARILS Phase 1, as well as research and teaching positions at the Rochester Institute of Technology and MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Cara holds a PhD in Imaging Science with a concentration in Remote Sensing, an MS in Imaging Science, and a BS in Physics and Mathematics.
