Principal Scientist at STR

Laura Vertatschitsch is a Senior Researcher at Systems & Technology Research since October 2015, specializing in radar and electronic warfare systems analysis as well as signal processing. Previously, Laura served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, focusing on digital signal processing for the Event Horizon Telescope. Laura's experience also includes working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington, where involvement included mobile passive radar design, meteor detection, and lecturing on Discrete Time Signals and Systems. An internship at Microsoft saw Laura engaged in the modeling of digital communication systems. Laura holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington and a BA in Mathematics-Physics from Whitman College.
