Mark Chopko is a distinguished legal professional currently serving as Senior Counsel and Chair Emeritus of the Religious, Educational & Nonprofit Institutions Practice Group at Stradley Ronon since July 2007. With extensive experience representing religious and nonprofit clients in complex liability and constitutional litigation across the United States, Europe, and the Pacific Rim, Mark also focuses on litigation defense in commercial and tort cases. Additionally, Mark holds adjunct professorships at Georgetown University Law Center, where teachings include the Church-State Law Seminar, and at the Walsh School of Foreign Service, where Mark taught a seminar on religion as a human right. Previously, Mark was General Counsel for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops from April 1984 to July 2007, where responsibilities included representing the conference in significant litigation before the Supreme Court and federal appellate courts. Academic credentials include a J.D. cum laude from Cornell Law School and a B.S. summa cum laude in Chemistry from the University of Scranton.
