Jasper Simon

Jasper Simon, PhD, currently serves as a SETA at Strategic Engineering Solutions since May 2023. In the same month, Jasper coordinated the Scientific Engineering Program for Quantum for Bio (Q4bio) at Wellcome Leap, contributing to a significant program aimed at developing healthcare applications and quantum computing algorithms. From February 2012 to December 2021, Jasper worked at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, initially as a Scientist focused on studying animal learning in collaboration with DeepMind, later as a Research Specialist conducting machine learning studies and neurogenetic research on social behavior. Prior to this, Jasper held consulting roles and visiting scientist positions where innovative methodologies were developed for behavioral studies and drug delivery systems. Jasper's early academic career included a postdoctoral fellowship at Occidental College and significant research at Caltech, culminating in a PhD in Biology. Additional education includes a BA in Biology from Macalester College and ongoing studies at the University of Chicago.
