Michael Yan is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in systems architecture and technical leadership. Currently serving as Principal Architect at MicroStrategy since December 2017, Michael has previously held key roles including Senior Staff System Software Engineer at Backtrace I/O and Distinguished Engineer at Grier Forensics. Michael's initial tenure at MicroStrategy spanned from August 2002 to October 2015 as a Senior Technical Architect, where Michael led customer engagement teams and managed critical server components. Prior experience includes a position as Staff Software Engineer at IBM, contributing to the Delay Calculation Language team, which helped establish the IEEE1481 standard. Michael holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, earned in 1997.
