Steve Schmidt is a seasoned Community Peace Officer and investigator with extensive experience in law enforcement and security management. Currently serving as a Community Peace Officer at Strathcona County since January 2015, Steve is responsible for the enforcement of Provincial Statutes and municipal bylaws, while also acting as the Lead Vehicle For Hire Inspector/Investigator. In addition, Steve holds the position of Sergeant at Arms for the Alberta Association of Community Peace Officers since September 2020, overseeing the Honour Guard Unit, Colour Party, and Ceremonial Sword Party. Previously, Steve worked as a Community Peace Officer for the City of St. Albert and served as a Correctional Peace Officer at the Edmonton Remand Centre, where participation in the Honour Guard was a key role. With an educational background that includes a Police & Security Diploma from MacEwan University and various training programs in community peace officer and correctional services, Steve brings a comprehensive skill set to their positions in public safety and law enforcement.
