Michael Pelayo

Director, Clinical Operations at Structure Therapeutics

Michael Pelayo has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical operations and research. Michael began their career as a Research Assistant at Kaiser Permanente in 2006 before moving on to become a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of California, San Francisco in 2008. Michael then held the role of Senior Clinical Research Coordinator before transitioning to the role of Clinical Project Manager at the same institution.

In 2014, Michael joined Plexxikon Inc. as a Clinical Project Manager and subsequently became a Clinical Program Manager 2 and then a Senior Clinical Program Manager. During their time at Plexxikon Inc., they managed various clinical programs.

In 2018, Michael joined Clovis Oncology as a Senior Clinical Trial Leader, where they played a key role in overseeing clinical trials.

Most recently, Michael has been working at Structure Therapeutics, initially as an Associate Director of Clinical Operations before being promoted to Director of Clinical Operations in 2023.

Michael Pelayo holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley. Michael obtained this degree from an unspecified start and end year. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in November 2017.
