Students' Media and Information Literacy Club (SMILC) is an African youth-led organization empowering young people with media and information literacy skills and the capacity to advocate for media and information literacy in their various communities, fight against misinformation, disinformation and conspiracy theories through a variety of initiatives. These initiatives include conferences, trainings and university-based chapters. SMILC is a member of the The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) MIL Alliance which promotes international cooperation to ensure that all citizens have access to media and information competencies.
