Aapo Tanskanen

Aapo Tanskanen is a seasoned professional in the fields of physics and nuclear engineering, currently serving as Principal Advisor and Head of International Projects at STUK - Säteilyturvakeskus since March 2014. Prior to this role, Aapo held the position of Lead Designer at Fortum from March 2008 to March 2014 and worked as a Senior Research Scientist at the Finnish Meteorological Institute from March 2002 to March 2008. Aapo's career began at VTT, where responsibilities as a Research Scientist were undertaken from 1996 to February 2002. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics obtained from the University of Helsinki (2005-2008) and an MSc in Nuclear Engineering, Applied Physics, and Health Physics from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan (1989-2002), complemented by studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1994-1995).
