William Ford

William Ford is the current Head of Data at StyleSeat. Prior to this, they were the Lead Data Scientist at TEKsystems from September 2021 to November 2021. There, they led a global team of 7 data scientists and analysts. William has also worked as the Principal Data Science Manager at Microsoft from June 2019 to August 2020, where they led data science in the "Business Applications Group: Insight and Analytics Team."

Some of their notable accomplishments include delivering, through deployment, forecasts for a major brand and working in strong partnership across Product, Engineering, and Data Science. William has also back-tested results that showed approx 10% decrease in error.

At Microsoft, William gained broad approvals for rapid algorithm development of several types of systems and increased the performant model library by more than 4x. William also unblocked a key model by rewriting a portion of the calculation that had not scaled well with a product’s explosive growth.

William Ford has a PhD in Computation and Neural Systems from Caltech, as well as graduate coursework in computational biology from Carnegie Mellon University. William also has a BS in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh. Finally, they are certified from the Pragmatic Management Institute in Pragmatic Management Certification - IV.

William Ford reports to Melody McCloskey, Founder & CEO. William Ford works with Melissa Weiss - Head of Product Management, John Federico - VP, Marketing, and Scott Palkoski - CFO.
