Styra
Tim Hinrichs is the co-founder and CTO of Styra, a 7-year-old company that specializes in cloud security. Prior to Styra, Tim was a staff software engineer at VMware, where they led the development of OpenStack Congress and was a kernel developer for the network virtualization platform NSX. Tim also spent time as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Chicago. Tim began their career as a software development intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
Tim Hinrichs has a PhD from Stanford University in Computer Science, which they obtained in 2007. Theirresearch focused on declarative languages and their application to utility computing and game-playing. Tim has also published papers and presented their findings at international conferences. Hinrichs also has a B.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Computer Science, which they obtained in 2001. Theirsenior thesis focused on parallel programming languages and their application to scientific computing.
