Kelly Portscher

Kelly Portscher currently serves as a Trust and Safety Specialist at Substack since September 2024, drawing on extensive experience in online safety and qualitative research. Previously, Kelly worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Oxford, focusing on empathetic communication patterns in online environments, and held the position of Child Safety Specialist at X, where responsibilities included managing legal escalations related to safety issues. Prior experience includes research roles at the Technical University of Denmark, studying migrant perceptions of surveillance, and assisting with a literature review on COVID-19 policies at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. Kelly holds a Master of Science in Social Science of the Internet from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology and Sociology from Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
