Heikki Holopainen

Chief Engineer Structural Engineering Europe at Sumitomo SHI FW

Heikki Holopainen has extensive work experience in the field of structural engineering. Heikki has worked as a Chief Engineer in various roles and companies, including Sumitomo SHI FW and Amec Foster Wheeler. Heikki has also served as a representative for Finland in the development of Eurocode EN 1993-1-5. Prior to these roles, Heikki has held positions as a Strength Analyst, Structural Designer, and Mechanical Designer, among others. Overall, their career spans over two decades and showcases their expertise in structural engineering and design.

Heikki Holopainen completed their education in Mechanical Engineering with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree from Savonia University of Applied Sciences from 1997 to 2001. Heikki then pursued their Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from LUT University, where they studied from 2001 to 2004.
