Jan Andersson's work experience begins in 2006, when they worked as a Trainee at KWH Plast. Jan then continued as a Trainee at KWH Plast in 2007. In 2008, they worked as a Thesis Writer at KWH Pipe Ltd, Technology. From 2008 to 2011, Jan worked at Wärtsilä, starting as a Development Engineer and then as a Senior Application Engineer. From 2013 to 2015, they served as a Senior Power System Analyst at Wärtsilä. From 2015 to 2020, Jan held the role of Senior Analyst, Market Development at Wärtsilä, where they were responsible for developing the company's value proposition on project and national levels. From 2020 to 2021, they were a Market Development Manager at Wärtsilä. In 2021, Jan became the General Manager at Wärtsilä, leading a team of Market Development experts in the Africa & Europe area. Finally, in 2022, Jan joined Sumitomo SHI FW as the Director of Global Market Development, where they lead the company's Global Market Development team to open new markets and create new opportunities for their Liquid Air Energy Storage (LAES) solution.
Jan Andersson earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Management from Åbo Akademi University. Jan attended the university from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, they completed their secondary education at Jakobstads Gymnasium from 1999 to 2002. In addition, Jan Andersson obtained the certification of Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from the Project Management Institute in November 2010.
