Rafael Olmeda

Rafael Olmeda is a seasoned journalist with a strong background in advocating for diversity and fair representation in media. Currently serving as a Senior Journalist at Sun-Sentinel since October 1999, Rafael has held significant leadership roles, including Past Board Member of the Society of Professional Journalists and former President of both UNION Journalists of Color and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, where the focus was on promoting minority representation in newsrooms. Additionally, Rafael has contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University and has previous experience as a reporter for the New York Daily News. Rafael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Baruch College and attended Bronx High School of Science.
