Suzanne Smith currently serves as the President of SUNY Potsdam since April 2023, after fulfilling the role of Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs at Georgia Southwestern State University from July 2018 to April 2023. Prior to that, Suzanne held various positions at Washington State University Vancouver from August 2005 to June 2018, including Director of Academic Planning and Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, where responsibilities included oversight of the campus Academic Plan and internship programs. Additionally, Suzanne was the Academic Director and Associate Professor of Human Development, overseeing departmental planning, coordination, and curriculum development, as well as serving as Interim Academic Director for the College of Education, managing the development of all degrees. Suzanne earned a Ph.D. in Child and Family Development from The University of Georgia in 2006 and completed the Management Development Program at Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2015.
