Swetha Ranasuriya has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Swetha has been working as a Teaching Faculty at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Clinical Counsellor at Darcy Bailey and Associates Counselling starting in 2019. Swetha also has experience in the education sector, having worked as a Teacher/Case Manager/Fine Arts Department Head at Surrey Schools (School District #36 Surrey) since 2017. Swetha was also self-employed as a Professional Art Therapist during the same period. In 2008, Swetha proceeded to Royal Roads University, where they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Conflict Analysis and Management - Ethno-Political Conflict. Swetha successfully completed this program in 2010.

Lastly, in 2015-2017, Swetha attended the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute, where they completed an Advanced Diploma in Art Therapy. This program allowed their to specialize in the field of Art Therapy/Therapist.

Throughout their education, Swetha has dedicated their studies to a variety of artistic and conflict-related fields, including fine arts, education, conflict analysis, and art therapy.
