Matthew Gideon has a diverse background in community engagement and hospitality, currently serving as the Community Engagement & Outreach Coordinator at Sustainable Food Center since June 2023, after holding roles including West Texas Program Associate and Seasonal Food Access Associate. Prior experience includes positions at Trinity Church as Social Media Coordinator and Church Photographer, and at Flippers Tavern as Bartender, where responsibilities included balancing registers and recommending menu items. As Restaurant Manager at La Diosa Cellars, Matthew focused on team coaching in food safety and customer service, while as Assistant Manager at Crumbl Cookies, oversight of team development and store operations was prioritized. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations/Image Management from Texas Tech University, completed in 2020.

With our new mission to transform the food system to nourish our health, land, and livelihood, SFC is laying the groundwork for our next phase as an organization.
