Sofie Allert has been working in the business sector since 2013. Sofie began their career as a Co-Founder and CEO of Swedish Algae Factory, where they produced advanced materials from algae on the west coast of Sweden. Sofie also had a summer internship with Food and Health Concept Center AB (FHCC) in 2013.
Sofie Allert attended Chalmers University of Technology from 2009 to 2012 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology. Sofie then attended the Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship from 2012 to 2014.

Swedish Algae Factory produces uniquely functional materials that are good for the planet. Their mission is to be the world-leading producer of advanced materials from algae and a driving force towards a circular and bio-based industry. They are the first company in the world to cultivate and sell diatom algae shells. They call the material Algica®. Algica® is a porous silica with unique light altering, absorptive and binding properties that are unmatched by synthetic materials. Algica® makes silicon solar cells at least 4% more efficient (4% is worth at least €1,2B annually for the solar energy industry) and DSSC 38% more efficient. Each kg Algica® used in solar panels reduces C02 emissions with at leasts 200 tons according to WWF.
