Dr. Burka holds a Doktor (Ph.D.) in Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik, Aeronautik und Astronautik from Monash University, awarded in 2010, and a Diplom-Ingenieur in Maschinenbau from RWTH Aachen University, completed in 2006.
