Kera McDonald was appointed Chief Underwriting Officer Bespoke and member of the Corporate Solutions Executive Committee with effect from 1 July 2019.
In this function, Kera is responsible for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' underwriting discipline and its Bespoke Underwriting Division. This includes underwriting responsibility for predominantly Bespoke portfolios with an emphasis on complex risks and large corporates services and solutions.
Previously, Kera served as Chief Risk Officer Corporate Solutions since 2016. In that role, she oversaw all elements of risk oversight and actuarial reserving and was instrumental in shaping the Corporate Solutions' risk management team to better meet the challenges of the business. Her other previous roles included Head Aviation Products and Audit Director Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions & Products.
Kera has 25 years of professional experience, having started her career as an Actuarial Analyst at William M. Mercer and transitioning to Swiss Re as part of the GE Insurance Solutions acquisition in 2006.
