Dr. Helge Behrends has extensive work experience in the IT industry. Dr. Helge began their career as a Scientific Researcher and Assistant Professor at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in 1991. Dr. Helge then worked as a Senior SAP Consultant at CSC from 1995 to 1997. Following this, they joined Uzuner Consulting GmbH as a Senior Management Consultant from 1997 to 1999.
In 1999, Dr. Behrends joined Kraft Foods Group as the Manager of Human Resources Information Systems. Dr. Helge held various roles within the company, including Senior SAP Project Manager, Business Change Manager, and Senior Manager of the Global Siebel Competency Center. Dr. Helge also worked as a Program Director and Business Lead for CE/MEU Integration and Cadbury Integration EMEA.
In 2012, Dr. Behrends joined Mondelēz International as the Director of Enterprise System EMEA. Dr. Helge later became the Director of Business Process Excellence and the Global Director of IS OTC CoE & IS ISC Business Partner MEU. From 2017 to 2019, they served as the Director of Information Technology & Solutions (ITS) & European Market Lead (CIO Europe) at Mondelēz International.
After leaving Mondelēz International, Dr. Behrends joined Carlsberg Group as the VP of Global Business Services for Supply Chain, HR, and Process Excellence. Dr. Helge then became the VP of Integrated IT and the Western Europe CIO. Currently, they are the Head of Strategic IT Management at Swisscard AECS GmbH, starting in 2023.
Dr. Helge Behrends completed their education in computer science and business administration. Dr. Helge attended the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 1985 to 1991, where they earned a Diplom degree. Later, they pursued further studies at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg from 1991 to 1995, obtaining a PhD in Computer Science.

Swisscard AECS is a joint venture between Credit Suisse AG and American Express. Swisscard AECS is the only company in Switzerland to offer the world leading credit card brands American Express, MasterCard and Visa from a single source, in the name and on behalf of Credit Suisse AG. Customers managed by Swisscard AECS have the largest choice of credit card products on the Swiss market. Thanks to the different product ranges, customers can put together a personalized combination of cards. Swisscard AECS was established as a joint venture between Credit Suisse AG and American Express in 1998. The company handles product development, sales and marketing, customer service and card processing in Switzerland on behalf of the card issuer Credit Suisse AG. As a merchant acquirer, Swisscard AECS is also responsible for expanding and handling the American Express network of points of acceptance in Switzerland. Swisscard AECS combines the strengths of its two parent companies in the credit card business, with American Express being the global leader as far as card management is concerned and Credit Suisse AG owning strong national sales channels. As a merchant acquirer for American Express, Swisscard AECS’s job is to guarantee that the customers can use their card wherever they want all over Switzerland. SIX (formerly Telekurs) and Aduno are primarily responsible for acquiring MasterCard and Visa in Switzerland.
