David Volkert

David Volkert is a seasoned tax professional with extensive experience in state and local taxation. Currently serving as a Sr. State & Local Tax Analyst II at Symetra since September 2021, David has previously worked at Marmota Olympus LLC where responsibilities included data analysis and managing clients' SALT concerns, resulting in over $100k in identified state tax refunds and significant process improvements. At The Doty Group, P.S., David held the position of State & Local Tax Supervisor, overseeing various tax areas. Prior experience also includes a role as Senior Accountant specialized in State & Local Tax at Shannon & Associates LLP, where David contributed to the development of a recognized tax practice, and as an Accounting Clerk at Mutual Materials Company, focusing on balance sheet account reconciliation.
