Nelson Carino

Nelson Carino is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in cloud technology and infrastructure management. Currently serving as the Cloud Technology Leader at Symetra since 2019, Nelson focuses on delivering digital operating principles through a cloud-first and cloud-native approach. Prior roles include Senior Director of Technology at TrueBlue Inc., where leadership encompassed a global organization in support of multiple business lines, and Director of Information Technology at Coinstar, responsible for strategic direction across various technology teams. Earlier experiences include directing infrastructure efforts at Outerwall and managing IT operations at Coinstar/Redbox. Nelson's technical journey began with a Senior Systems Engineer role at REI and a Distributed Systems Specialist position at Alaska Airlines. Nelson holds education from ITT Technical Institute-Seattle, North Seattle College, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
