Jeremy Perna

Jeremy Perna has a diverse work experience in software engineering and neuroscience research. Jeremy started their career as a Research Intern at the University of Virginia, where they contributed to the Kapur Lab's study on epilepsy. Jeremy then became a Research Assistant at Columbia's Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain and Behavior Institute, working on a project examining trans-generational inheritance of learned behavior in the Axel Lab.

Jeremy also gained experience in the field of biomedical engineering as a Research Assistant at Columbia University's Laboratory for Neural Engineering and Control. In this role, they focused on data collection and preliminary analysis for an Alzheimer's research project. Additionally, Jeremy served as a Peer Tutor at Columbia University's Berick Center for Student Advising, providing individualized tutoring in Introductory Biology to multiple students. Jeremy also contributed to the Columbia Neuroscience Society's organizational committee, planning events related to mindfulness meditation and neuropsychiatric disorders.

In their most recent position as an Associate Software Engineer at Syncro Medical, Jeremy has worked on multiple client projects. Notably, they contributed to the research and development of a data visualization algorithm for an x-ray food scanner. Overall, Jeremy has made meaningful contributions to various research projects and software development initiatives throughout their career.
