Joe Chew currently serves as the Lead Process Safety Engineer at Synergy, beginning in August 2023. Previously, Joe held multiple roles at Woodside Energy from August 2007 to March 2022, including Chief Process Safety Engineer, where responsibilities included serving as the Process Safety Engineering Technical Authority and WEL Engineering Authority delegate. From October 2014 to September 2016, Joe was the Principal Safety Risk Engineer, leading the Safety Risk Engineering team and overseeing technical integrity for developments and projects while supporting key Australian oil business units. Prior to Woodside Energy, Joe worked as a Safety Risk Engineer at BHPBilliton from 2003 to 2007, WorleyParsons from 2000 to 2003, and IRC in Perth from 1998 to 2000. Joe Chew holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Curtin University, earned between 1995 and 1998.
