Sahaya Arputharaj has a strong background in the maritime industry, with over 25 years of experience. They began their career as a Deck Cadet at Arch Shipping Services Pvt. Ltd. in 1997. After that, they joined Wallem Maritime Services Inc., where they held various positions as Third Officer, Second Officer, and Chief Officer from 2000 to 2006. Sahaya then moved on to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. as Chief Officer from 2006 to 2010. Following this, they joined Fleet Management Limited as Chief Officer/Master from 2011 to 2012. Sahaya's most recent work experience has been with Synergy Marine Group, where they have served in several roles including Master Mariner in Merchant Navy, Port Captain, Marine Superintendent, Marine Manager, and currently as Group Head - Container Operations, starting in November 2022.
Sahaya Arputharaj began their education at the Holy Cross Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Tuticorin from 1981 to 1985. Sahaya then attended St. Thomas Mat Hr Sec School in Tuticorin from 1985 to 1995. After completing their secondary education, they pursued higher studies at the Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) from 1995 to 1996. In 1996, Sahaya Arputharaj enrolled at the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies to obtain an HND Nautical Science degree, which they completed in 1997. The field of study for their higher education was Nautical Studies.
