Yu Zhu

Yu Zhu is a highly experienced professional in the field of IC Power Integrity and circuit simulation. Currently serving as a Senior Technical Member at Synopsys Inc. since March 2023 and Chief Technologist at Siemens EDA since January 2022, Yu Zhu has a solid background that includes a principal technologist role at Mentor Graphics from May 2016 to January 2022. As a cofounder and CTO of an EDA startup, which was acquired by Mentor Graphics, Yu Zhu has significantly contributed to optimizing IC power integrity. Previous roles include architect and director of the SpectreRF team at Cadence Design Systems, where the SpectreRF tool became the gold standard for CMOS RF IC design. Yu Zhu has also developed electromagnetic modeling tools and has been instrumental in various key projects throughout an extensive career that began with an internship at Motorola. Yu Zhu holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Nanjing University.
