Chris Whitis

Chris Whitis is currently the Head of Capital Markets at Synovus since October 2022. Prior to this role, Chris served at PNC from 2012 to 2022, where responsibilities included Co-Head of Corporate Banking for the Southeast US and Texas, significantly contributing to the bank's national expansion. Chris led initiatives to build corporate banking teams in Texas' major cities, establishing brand presence in a previously underserved region. Earlier roles at PNC included Head of Corporate Banking for Georgia and Texas, focusing on talent acquisition and market development. Chris began a career in banking as a Middle Market Relationship Manager at Bank of America from 2005 to 2012. Chris holds a degree from The University of Georgia, earned between 1998 and 2002.
