Juan Frias

Juan Pablo Frias currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Diabetes at Biomea Fusion, a position held since September 2023. Previously, Juan Pablo Frias has held significant leadership roles, including President and CEO at the National Research Institute from October 2014 to December 2018 and Chief Medical Officer at the same institute from October 2013 to October 2014. Other notable positions include Chief Medical Officer at Tethys Bioscience, Inc., and a Principal role at MetaCon, Inc. In the earlier stages of their career, Juan Pablo Frias worked as the Chief Medical Officer, WW Vice President, Clinical and Medical Affairs at Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Care and completed an Endocrinology Fellowship at UC San Diego Health System. Juan Pablo Frias obtained an MD in Medicine from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Florida, alongside additional training in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.
