Junior Data Scientist | Machine Integration Task Force (f/m/d)

In a cross-functional team of data scientists and data analysts, you will develop the analytics that power our cutting-edge solutions for the heavy industry.

Your mission:

• Working with noisy and unlabeled data. You know how to embed prior qualitative and quantitative knowledge into your model design and quantify the uncertainty of your models’ output.
• Create sound algorithms that provide actionable insights from raw machine data, covering a variety of topics such as predictive maintenance, machine activity detection, and anomaly detection.
• Data science is as much about asking questions as it is about providing answers. You challenge current assumptions by asking the right questions and working as a team player to provide the best answers.
• Engage with domain experts and customers to drive innovation in all aspects of data science and engineering.
• Ensure that we engage in sound engineering and quality practices across the entire stack.
• Writing production-ready code including tests and documentation.

Your profile:

• Hands-on experience in solving real data science problems with algorithms.
• Basic understanding of how the most crucial ML algorithms work and the science behind them.
• Knowledge of the Python data science stack and basic knowledge of SQL (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, SciPy).
• Experience in software development as part of a team. You understand the principles of object-oriented programming in Python and how to work with larger software projects.
• Nice to have skills:
• Being familiar with containerized applications (Docker), FastAPI, microservice architectures and cloud computing.
• Experience developing and deploying ML workflows, in particular with Kubeflow or AWS Sagemaker.
• First experience in building data models and deploying them in a production environment.
• Accustomed to reading and writing data from and to RDBMS like PostgreSQL and object storage locations like AWS S3 buckets.
• German language
