Rocco Matarazzo is a data engineer at the Tampa Bay Rays since April 2022, with prior experience as a lead researcher at Rowan University from September 2020 to October 2022. Matarazzo's research focused on estimating marginal victory outcomes per dollar per position, developing managerial efficiency variables for statistical analysis, and identifying team-level determinants of victory in Major League Baseball. This role involved collecting and analyzing over 28,000 MLB data observations encompassing player statistics and salaries. Additionally, Matarazzo served as a research assistant, where large datasets of over 150,000 observations were cleaned and literature reviews were conducted. Matarazzo is pursuing a Master's degree in Statistics at North Carolina State University, expected to complete in December 2024, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with double minors in Data Analytics and Statistics from Rowan University.
