Alex Long

Alex Long is an experienced leader in DataOps, currently serving as the Director of DataOps - Hosted at Tamr since January 2017. In this role, Alex oversees customer delivery and implementations in a managed cloud environment, collaborates with DevOps, SRE, and Product teams to enhance the cloud experience, and drives the DataOps strategy across the organization. Previously, Alex held roles as a DataOps Technical Lead and Senior DataOps Engineer, successfully implementing scalable machine learning pipelines and coaching data engineers and scientists. Alex's earlier experience includes positions at the ATLAS Experiment at CERN, the Triangle Universities Nuclear Laboratory, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, with a focus on data analysis and simulation in high-energy physics. Alex holds a PhD in Elementary Particle Physics from Boston University and a B.S. in Physics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
