Paul Pillot has held various roles in the technology and education fields since 2003. Paul began their career as a Biological Science Teacher at Narrabundah College in 2003. From 2007 to 2013, they were a Professeur de Sciences de la Vie et de la Terre at Lycée Simone Veil. In 2011, they were hired as a Consultant Co-author at Réseau Canopé, where they were involved in the conception of a multiple sequence alignment JS library, a sequence scrolling component, and other aspects of the development. From 2018 to 2022, they worked as a Scientific Web Application Developer at Chemical Computing Group, where they were involved in every step of the web applications life cycle. Paul is currently a Developer at the Canadian Centre for Computational Genomics, working on the Bento Platform. Paul will also be taking on a role as a Full Stack Engineer at TandemAI in 2022.

Paul Pillot obtained their Agrégation in Life and Earth Sciences from Education nationale in 2003. Paul then went on to earn their Master's degree in Biology, General from Université d'Orléans between 1994 and 1999. In 2013, they obtained a certification in Informatique et Sciences du Numériques from Académie de Nice.
