Derek Smith

Derek Smith is an experienced EMS and SCADA Systems Engineer currently employed at TasNetworks since July 2014. Prior to this role, Derek worked as a contractor with Hays IT and served as a SCADA Systems Engineer at Transend. Additionally, Derek has experience as an owner-builder while managing a personal construction project in the Huon Valley, Tasmania. Derek's extensive career includes a tenure as a Systems Engineer at Thales Australia and a Software Engineer at AWA Defence Industries. Educationally, Derek holds a Graduate Certificate in Software Engineering from the University of South Australia and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from Curtin University.
